CHIPPEWA COUNTY UW-EXTENSION MASTER GARDENER THINK SPRING GARDEN SEMINAR – FEBRUARY 17, 2018
The Chippewa Valley Master Gardener Association and the Chippewa County UW-Extension Office are hosting the annual Think Spring Garden Seminar on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Avalon Hotel & Conference Center from 8:00am to 3:30pm. Early-bird rate to attend is $30.00 and Not So Early-Bird rate after February 7th is $35.00 both of which include lunch and refreshments.
Speakers and topics include: Keynote speaker Jim Beardsley, who will provide a presentation to you about “Ten Commandments of Growing Roses”. Jim will also provide a breakout session on “Chemical Safety for the Garden”. Other speakers featured are PJ Liesch, UW-Extension Insect Diagnostic Lab entomologist, speaking on “Unwanted Visitors: Emerald Ash Borers & Other Invasive Pests”; Mary Stewart, Owner of Growing to Pot Orchids, speaking on “Successfully Growing & Maintaining Orchids”; Faye Ryszkiewicz, Fryszki’s Country Gardens, LLC, speaking on “Split Log Succulent Garden Workshop”; Kristen Kelm, Chippewa County Public Health Nurse, “Tick Illness and Prevention”; Jerry Clark, UW Extension Chippewa County Crops & Soils Educator, “Weather & Climate Determines What we Can Grow & and How Well It Grows“; Matt Staudenmaier, City of Eau Claire, “Eau Claire’s Trees – Past, Present and Future”; and for an additional charge Mary Stewart will provide a demonstration on “Repotting Orchids”.
